“Dance has the power to move people’s hearts and create happiness.”
Asuka's Voice
In Asuka’s own words: how she began ballet, what she has learned, and the challenges ahead.
1. What made you start ballet?
I started ballet because my mother encouraged me to improve my posture.
2. What has been the happiest moment in continuing ballet?
There was a time when I struggled because I had gained weight, but I overcame it through my own effort. I was truly happy when I was able to change through hard work.
3. What was your most difficult experience, and what did you learn from it?
I struggled with balancing school and ballet, worrying that I might end up doing both halfway. From that experience, I learned that I do not have to do everything perfectly.
4. How would you describe your personality in one word?
I would say “positive.” Even when things do not go well, I can move on without dwelling on them and switch my mindset toward the next step.
5. What do you value most when you dance?
I value making the audience happy. Through my expression, I want to deliver something to the hearts of the people watching.
6. Please introduce yourself.
Through continuing ballet since I was little, I have learned the importance of effort and perseverance. Although I am not tall, I want to become a dancer who can draw people in through expression, atmosphere, and presence that only I can create. I will continue to enjoy new challenges and grow in my own way.
